We aren’t going to convince you the best way to see the state is by the bus in between places. Utah is a BIG place and things are so far apart. That being said, it is very doable, and if you pick your itinerary well, it can be done. Zion and Park City are probably the two most car-free places you can go. Both have a free transit system and it is easy to get in between both. You can also consider car legs, and non-car legs. Using the bus system is getting better every year and maybe by the time you read this more connections will be made. Reach out if you know the best way to do something and I will update this blog post!
Why Car-free?
Both Park City and Zion have oppressive parking restrictions to the places you want to go. And with so many people, even if the parking is free it is kinda a pain to find a spot. Way better to just take the free transportation as our communities are so desperate to reduce car use in our area.
Using Salt Lake City Express to transfer to St George
The Salt Lake Express is a great way to get around the different spots in Utah. It works especially well for Zion, as it stops in Las Vegas and Park City. The stop you would transfer at is in St. George. It is a pretty good place to stay for your visit around Zion with really great mountain biking and an awesome state park. The State Park is called Snow Canyon, and it is essentially Zion but with Lava. When I checked the website, it was $95 for the bus. We don’t have a particular place we like to stay in St. George, and you can stay up near Zion. Just depends on how much you want to spend, and how many friends you got

The Bus to Zion
Transfer to the SUNTRAN, taking you to Springdale where you can enter the Park. They run pretty early in the morning up until pretty late at night. And it’s only $5 each way

Maybe go to Vegas after
Using Salt Lake Express again, the transfer to Las Vegas is pretty quick and easy. It is $43 at the time that I checked, and drops you off right on the strip. Not our cup of Tea, but if you come from a long ways away, I do think staying at Sin City Hostel is a good place to start there. Hostel Life is the Best Life.
