What do I need to check into the hostel?
To check in, you’ll need a valid, government-issued photo ID. If you’re an international traveler, please bring your passport; if you’re a U.S. traveler, a state-issued ID is required. Additionally, a booking must be made online and is required at check-in. We are a hostel for travelers! At Park City Hostel, you can only book for others if you’ll be staying together.
How much does it cost to stay? When is the best time to reserve a room, and are there any special rates for students or military personnel?
The best prices are directly through our website. Please keep in mind that all reservations must be made online, even if you’re a walk-in! The best time to book is between 30 and 90 days ahead of time, but we don’t recommend waiting to book the busiest weeks. Additionally, we offer 10% to students and the military. Use code “student” on checkout and be prepared to show proof on arrival! These discounts cannot be added after booking.
What are your office hours and check-in/out times?
Our front desk is open from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM in the Summer, and 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM in the Winter. Late arrivals can be arranged with prior notice. Check-in starts at 3pm. Complimentary luggage storage is available for early arrivals and on your day of departure. Check-out is at 11 AM. We do not offer late check-out.
How does the cancellation policy work?
Flexible bookings require 7 days’ notice for changes/cancellations. Late cancellations (within 7 days but before 10 PM the day prior) have a $35 fee. Non-refundable bookings can be canceled for future credit with a one-night fee deduction. For third-party bookings, please contact them to help you cancel bookings. Additionally, during the Sundance Film Festival period (January 22nd-February 4th), a total of 2 weeks’ notice is required for cancellation. Failure to notify us, or in case of a no-show, the total price of the reservation may be charged.
Finding the hostel and transportation from the airport?
Park City Hostel is located off of Kearns Blvd on Sidewinder Dr., the address is 1781 Sidewinder Dr. on the far left-hand side of the white building. We recommend not bringing a car (while parking is available). You can arrange an airport shuttle here. There is mostly free public transit to and from the airport, it takes two hours. To see the Bus Route in Google Maps and see the Bus Schedule, click the provided links! The last option is Uber and Lyft, which run at about $45 without a multiplier.
What are my parking options?
Parking at Park City Hostel is free. Guests have access to two lots for vehicles. Be sure to ask the staff about the parking permit! However, a vehicle is not required with the Free public buses, and the walkability of Park City.
What is the distance from the hostel to the mountain and downtown Park City?
Park City Hostel is a 10-minute free bus ride from the base of Park City, with a ski-boot-friendly walk to the bus stop. It’s about a 15-minute bus ride to the Historic Main Street for those adventuring for the shops and watering holes.
What are the bathroom arrangements at the hostel?
All of Park City Hostels’ bathrooms are located in the hallways near the rooms. There is at least one bathroom or shower room for every 6 people staying with us. We take special care to keep them clean and stock them with the essentials.
Do you provide linens and towels?
Yes, we provide linens and towels. We also have an easily accessible storage for extra blankets on those chilly winter nights, along with other amenities such as soaps, hairdryers, coffee, oatmeal, hot chocolate, and basic spices for guests. All at no additional cost.
What facilities are available for guest use?
Our hostel features a large indoor common room for socializing, a fully-equipped commercial kitchen, and two rooftop patios with mountain views ideal for sun salutations and relaxation. We do not have a guest-accessed laundry facility, but rather a $7 laundry service; otherwise, there is a laundr-o-mat located nearby.
Are there lockers in the dorms?
Yes, each dorm bed is assigned a locker that is roughly big enough for a backpack. There is additional space under the beds for larger luggage storage. You’re welcome to use your own lock, or we sell them at our front desk for $7.63.
Do you have WiFi?
Yes! We have free WiFi for those inescapable work days.
Do you have equipment storage (e.i skis, snowboards, Bikes)?
Yes! We have a storage room equipped with wall racks for winter gear, along with boot dryers and mitten warmers. Our bike storage is located in our back stairwell with accessible railings for securing your bike.
Do you Accept Short or long-term housing?
Park City Hostel is not designed for housing. There is a 14-day limit on Dorm room reservations, and a 28-day limit on Private room reservations, at which time you must leave the hostel for at least one night.
Is there a curfew?
No! Once you’re checked in, you’ll have 24-hour access to the hostel. Our front desk is staffed from 7/8 AM – 11 PM, with an overnight number for non-emergencies. Please note that our quiet hours are from 11 PM – 7 AM.
Do you allow pets?
Park City Hostel is about people and is not a good place for pets. For more information on our allowance of Service Animals trained with a specific purpose under ADA guidelines, please visit our Policies page or contact us directly.
Does this hostel accept groups?
